Exercise linked with stronger bones in children

Exercise doesn't just help kids improve their cardiovascular function, keep their weight down and make them more mentally acute -- it may also strengthen bones, according to a new study.

Researchers from Southampton and Cambridge universities in Britain gave DXA scans to about 200 6-year-olds to test their bone mass, specifically looking at the children's hip and thigh bones.

The children were also asked how much physical activity they'd gotten for seven consecutive days.

After looking at the data, researchers found a link between higher amounts of vigorous activity and greater hip bone strength, finding changes in both shape and mineral density volume. This held true after adjusting for factors such as lifestyle, diet and the size of the child.

Activities that incorporate kicking or landing with force have also been linked with higher bone density in children. A 2004 study in the journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise found that boys age 10 to 13 who played soccer three hours a week over three years had 33% more total bone mineral density than boys who did various activities such as running.

The current study was presented recently at the World Congress on Osteoporosis in Florence, Italy.

These post is good to share with us. The children were also asked how much physical activity they had gotten for seven consecutive days. They have to do the various activities also for the stronger bones.

Nice one and After reviewing the data, i think researchers have found a relationship between a more intense physical activity and increased bone strength in the hip, to find changes in the shape and volume of mineral density. This was the case after adjusting for factors such as lifestyle, diet and child's size.

I think that It is very hard for little kids to do high exercise. I have heard that IOt would be also cut the growth of the kids as long. But When I see this information. It is very useful fro all the little kids. I like it dude.

Children could not a hard exercise but it should be need for children thus we would be a simple exercise for a children that made a strong bones in a children.Parents are always think that It is a best for children but some time high exercise will be a very harm full for a children.

Exercise is improve kids growth as weight, hight it may also strengthen bones, Everyday you do Two hours exercise its advantages to youngsters and health and stronger bones, muscles.

One of the best means to body and advance advantageous basic is through exercise, Because bone is living tissue it requires approved dispatch from concrete activity. Like muscles, basic should be acclimated consistently or they will deteriorate.

Drink more milk is not necessarily develop healthier bones in children. However, more exercise and modest consumption of calcium-rich foods such as tofu does. On the other hand, calcium can be obtained from a cup of cow's milk is one cup of fortified orange juice, a cup of cooked turnip greens.
